What is PhiContour?

PhiContour is a skill of a semi-permanent makeup for eyeliner, lips & eyebrow drawing, as well as scalp and areola pigmentation. The shape is calculated according to the golden intersection (phi 1.618) and face morphology. For the lips & eyebrows the symmetry is achieved through PhiBrows application technique and is calculated while the client’s eyes are closed, because this way mimetic muscles that can affect eyebrows’ symmetry are relaxed. PhiContour offers different techniques to create (according to the client’s desire) more natural or more dramatic results.

What do I need to know before treatment?

PLEASE READ!!!
Please call in for a consultation before booking the treatment if you:

  • have problematic skin (severe acne, psoriasis)
  • have serious health problems
  • problem with herpes virus (cold sores)
  • take prescription medications
  • have an existing old permanent make-up

It is highly recommended for you to get a prescription from your Doctor for Valtrex (1500 mg) to start 2-3 days before lip treatment and continue the course to prevent herpes (cold sores) outbreak after the procedure, even if you never had it before. The treatment might trigger the dormant virus to appear. If you have a history of herpes (cold sores) outbreaks the prescription is a MUST!

Familiarize yourself with the aftercare instructions thoroughly before the treatment.

The pain during the treatment is relative. Scared clients and those who have their period usually feel more intense pain, while the other clients compare the pain to the one they feel when tweezing their eyebrows. I also use mild anesthetics that will significantly reduce or even entirely eliminate the pain during the treatment.

How long does PhiContour last?

Post-treatment flow makes 70% of the treatment’s success! Conscientiously obey aftercare instructions. Rinsing and applying ointment is very important!
Color retention primarily depends on how oily client’s skin is. The oilier the skin the faster the color will fade. Continuous sweating and sun exposure also reduce color retention.
On average, expected time until color refreshment is needed is 1 to 3 years. With oily skin it is up to 2 years.

How long does the procedure take?

Total appointment time depends on the procedure that will be performed. Please refer to “Services” page for more information. Appointment time includes consultation, paperwork, numbing time, design, treatment itself and before and after pictures. Please be advised that my numbing cream contains Benzocain, Lidocain, Tetracaine and Epinephrine. So, if you have an allergy to any of these medications the procedure will have to be done without numbing…

Does the procedure hurt?

Everyone’s pain tolerance level is different. I use a prescription grade numbing cream that will make your semi-permanent makeup session as painless as possible. Numbing cream also reapplied a few times throughout the procedure. The treatment might be slightly uncomfortable, but aren’t perfect brows, eyeliner and/or lips worth it?!

What color of pigment do I need?

I use highest quality pigments made in the U.S. and Germany and have a large variety of premixed colors. I also can custom mix one if none of the premixed colors works for the client. For brows I choose the pigment based on the client’s skin tone and hair coloring while s/he is numbing. For the eyeliner or lips the client makes a final decision on the color of the pigment.

How long does the healing take?

PLEASE READ!!!
The active healing takes less than a week, mostly 3-4 days. However, if you have an event or special occasion coming up, please allow at least a week or week and a half to heal properly. Also, make sure you schedule your touch up session in advance in case you need it.
The color is darker during the first 5-7 days. About a week later the pigment loses up to 40 to 50% of its intensity. If you think the color is too dark, do not try to remove it yourself by no means! Patiently wait 7 days for the color to fade on its own after the skin on treated area heals.

I am pregnant – can I have a semi-permanent makeup (PhiContour) done?

No. You CANNOT get a semi-permanent makeup (PhiContour) done if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Will I still need to remove a new brow hair growth?

Yes! Semi-permanent makeup (PhiContour) does not affect a new brow hair re-growth. I am giving you an amazing brow template that will make your re-growth maintenance so much easier!
IF YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS THAT MAY AFFECT YOUR DECISION TO PROCEED WITH THE SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP (PHICONTOUR) PROCEDURE, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME PRIOR TO BOOKING! IT WILL SAVE US BOTH TIME AND MONEY!

Will I need a touch-up?

It is a semi-permanent procedure, where the pigment is inserted into a basal layer of the epidermis. Every client’s skin is different and the client’s skin type, texture, maturity and oiliness affect the healing process and pigment retention. Severe fading and undesirable scabbing may occur. Generally, the results are impeccable, but again, the final result will differ from client to client.
The 1st touch-up is recommended within 4-6 weeks and up to 12 weeks after initial treatment and is included in the price of the first session. Clients may require additional touch-up depending on their skin’s pigment retention.

IMPORTANT!!! It is the CLIENT’S responsibility to schedule their touch-up session(s) ahead. Please read all FAQs, policies and procedures before making your appointments. No exceptions.
