What is microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo-like technology that uses a handheld tool with superfine needles (microblade) dipped in pigment to create hairlike strokes. This procedure allows reconstructing your uneven or barely there brows into perfect arches almost undetectably.
What color of pigment do I need?
I use great microblading pigments (made in the U.S.) and I have a large variety of premixed colors. I also can custom mix one that matches perfectly if none of the premixed colors works for the client. I choose the pigment based on the client’s skin tone and hair coloring while s/he is numbing.
How long does the healing take?
The active healing takes less than a week, mostly 3-4 days. However, if you have an event or special occasion coming up, please allow at least a week to heal properly. Also, make sure you schedule your touch up session in advance in case you need it.
During the healing your brows will go through different stages.
Instantly after the procedure your eyebrows will appear very dark. It happens because the pigment has not settled into the skin completely and is still remaining on top of the skin. The color will soften in the next few days.
You also may see some pigment on the cotton swab while applying the ointment after first cleaning. Do not worry. This is a natural way for the excess pigment and/or body fluid to exit the skin.
Once the active healing of the top layer of the skin starts (days 4-5), you will see some flaking (dandruff like) and you may get an impression of a rapid pigment fading – this is just dry skin and surface color that are part of the process and is a natural way skin cells turn over.
After your brows are completely healed, apply a thin layer of a sunscreen SPF 30 – SPF 50 level during sun exposure. Do not use “oily” sunscreen as it can affect the pigment retention.
Who is not an ideal candidate for microblading?
– A person with extremely oily skin (pigment might not retain well, look more solid than hair strokes and/or fade faster)
– A person with large pores on their head
– A person who sweats a lot and/or works out daily
– A person with very dark existing permanent makeup
– A person with Diabetes Type 1 or 2 (pigment may not retain well, prone to heavy bleeding during the procedure, slow healing and infection)
– A person with Thyroid/Graves disease (medications may affect pigment retention)
– A person who is pregnant or nursing (NO SERVICE – NO EXCEPTIONS)
*** It is still possible that the client with above mentioned conditions will have great results. Everyone’s skin is different. Microblading is an ART and results cannot be guaranteed.
***** Even if you don’t have above mentioned contraindications, the results cannot be guaranteed! I will give you an amazing microblading service, but it is up to your skin to retain it!
IF YOU WILL COME TO YOUR SCHEDULED SESSION AND DECIDE NOT TO PROCEED DUE TO ONE OR MORE ABOVE MENTIONED ISSUES ARE PRESENT, YOUR $100 DEPOSIT IS STILL NON-REFUNDABLE AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED A “LATE CANCELLATION FEE” (please see my cancellation policy).
I am pregnant – can I have my brows microbladed?
No. You CANNOT microblade your brows if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. NO EXCEPTIONS.
How long does microblading last?
Microblading is a semi-permanent procedure. On average, the result lasts 12-24 months and is absolutely incredible! Semi-permanent makeup is an ART and clients’ results vary. While generally the result is awesome and retention is great, there is no guarantee that each client will benefit from this procedure.
It is important for clients to understand that I will create perfect, beautiful, symmetrical brows, but it is up to their skin to retain my microblading service! Results of my semi-permanent cosmetic service will depend on the client’s skin type, texture, maturity and oiliness. Severe fading and undesirable scabbing may occur. Also, depending on the client’s skin, microblading will heal 30-50% lighter. I am keeping this in mind when choosing a pigment color for my clients, but as I stated earlier, the quality of retention largely depends on their skin…
Microblading is a very natural looking corrective procedure, and on dark haired clients it might look lighter than their natural hair color. In this case it could look like the client needs a touch up while s/he actually may not need it.
Microblading does not eliminate the need to use brow products. I am giving you a perfect template to work with!
Does the procedure hurt?
Everyone’s pain tolerance level is different. I use a prescription grade numbing cream that will make your microblading session as painless as possible. The procedure might be slightly uncomfortable, but aren’t perfect brows worth it?!
How long does the procedure take?
Total appointment time for initial session is 3 hours. It includes consultation, paperwork, numbing time, brow design, microblading itself and before and after pictures. Please be advised that my numbing cream contains Benzocain, Lidocain, Tetracaine and Epinephrine. So, if you have an allergy to any of these medications the procedure will have to be done without numbing…
Will I need a touch-up?
It is a semi-permanent procedure, where the pigment is inserted into a basal layer of the epidermis. Every client’s skin is different and the client’s skin type, texture, maturity and oiliness affects the healing process and pigment retention. Severe fading and undesirable scabbing may occur. Generally, the results are impeccable, but again, the final result will differ from client to client.
The 1st touch-up is recommended within 6-8 weeks and up to 12 weeks after initial blading and is offered by Olesia’s Beauty Studio at a great discount ($50.00). Clients may require additional touch-up depending on their skin’s pigment retention. The timely touch-up scheduling will ensure the client gets a discounted touch-up rate.
IMPORTANT!!! It is the CLIENT’S responsibility to schedule their touch-up session(s) ahead. Please read all FAQs, policies and procedures before making your appointments. No exceptions.
Will I still need to remove a new brow hair growth?
Yes! Microblading does not affect a new brow hair re-growth. I am giving you an amazing brow template that will make your re-growth maintenance so much easier!
IF YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS THAT MAY AFFECT YOUR DECISION TO PROCEED WITH THE MICROBLADING PROCEDURE, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME PRIOR TO BOOKING! IT WILL SAVE US BOTH TIME AND MONEY! XOXO Olesia
